Nonprofit elevates Reagan-era message as tens of thousands gather Jan. 23 in Washington
PLANO, Texas — Thousands are expected in Washington, D.C., for the National March for Life on Jan. 23. Save the Storks, a national pro-life organization on a mission to eliminate the obstacles and create equal access to motherhood, chose “Let Life Happen” as their 2026 theme, connecting today’s pro-life movement to a legacy first recognized by President Ronald Reagan — National Sanctity of Human Life Day — over four decades ago.
National Sanctity of Human Life Day traces its origin to Jan. 22, 1984, when Reagan proclaimed the observance on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, urging Americans to reflect on the value of human life and the responsibility to protect the most vulnerable. Each year in January, that reflection is echoed publicly through the March for Life, widely regarded as the world’s largest annual human rights demonstration.
The 2026 National March for Life will take place Friday, Jan. 23, in Washington, D.C., bringing together women, men, young people and families from across the country to commemorate the anniversary of the 1973 Supreme Court decision and to advocate for the dignity of every human life.
For Save the Storks, this year’s march also serves as a national moment to launch and reinforce its unifying 2026 message.
“‘Let Life Happen’ isn’t just a theme for us — it’s a declaration of who we are and how we serve mothers, children and families every day,” said Diane Ferraro, CEO of Save the Storks. “Throughout 2026, this message will anchor our work, reminding the nation that every woman deserves real support, real care and real options so life can unfold in all the ways God intended.”
Founded in 2012, Save the Storks is a national nonprofit dedicated to creating a story of hope and empowerment for every woman facing an unplanned pregnancy. The key areas of impact include elevating women’s healthcare through strategic partnerships with Pregnancy Health Clinics; mobile medical clinics that bring women’s healthcare directly to where it is most needed; church and community partnerships; and a digital platform that offers women 24/7 access to real care and real options.
Ferraro said the March for Life reflects the same heart behind Save the Storks’ day-to-day mission.
“The March for Life is more than a single event — it’s a powerful reminder that every life has value and that women should never feel alone, pressured or without support,” Ferraro said. “At Save the Storks, we exist to be that bridge, connecting women to compassionate care, practical resources and communities that help them confidently choose motherhood.”
As the 2026 theme is carried across Save the Storks’ marketing initiatives, events and outreach efforts, Ferraro said the organization hopes the phrase “Let Life Happen” becomes synonymous with its approach.
“We are pro-life, pro-woman, pro-man, pro-baby and pro-family, and ‘Let Life Happen’ captures that holistic vision,” she said. “It speaks to perseverance, to compassion and to the belief that when women are truly supported, life-changing stories of hope can begin.”
In communities nationwide, Save the Storks works alongside Pregnancy Health Clinics, churches and local partners to expand access to women’s healthcare and life-affirming resources, particularly through mobile medical clinics that meet women where they are — both geographically and emotionally.
“Our calling is not only to stand for life, but to walk with women long after a rally ends,” Ferraro said. “As the nation observes Sanctity of Human Life Day and gathers again for the March for Life, we’re recommitting ourselves to building a culture where every woman knows she is seen, valued and supported — and where every child is welcomed.”
Save the Storks’mission is to create a story of hope and empowerment for every woman facing an unplanned pregnancy.
