106th Mobile Medical Clinic adds more life-saving care to nationwide network

PLANO, Texas — Save the Storks recently launched its first Mobile Medical Clinic in Denver, marking the organization’s 106th Mobile Medical Clinic nationwide and second in Colorado. The new Mobile Medical Clinic, made possible through a more than $700,000 grant from Save the Storks in addition to funds raised by Marisol Health, provides critical support for women and families in Denver while honoring the legacy of pro-life advocate Dr. Francis Smith

The Mobile Medical Clinic, operated by Marisol Health, a ministry of Catholic Charities, serves expectant mothers with state-of-the-art care. The unit is equipped with ultrasound technology, pregnancy testing, and staffed by health professionals and advocates who meet women at critical moments with hope and resources.

“Catholic Charities is thrilled to announce that the Marisol Health Mobile is officially up and running, bringing free, life-affirming healthcare directly to underserved communities in Denver and Aurora. The mobile unit offers pregnancy testing, first-trimester ultrasounds, counseling, social services and referrals for ongoing support,” said Darren Walsh, President and CEO of Catholic Charities of Denver. “We’re excited to see the difference this mobile unit will make as it serves weekly in the Five Points area, Central Aurora and East Colfax, supporting families when they need it most.”

Denver represents a pivotal opportunity for Save the Storks’ outreach, as Colorado has experienced an alarming 89% increase in abortions since the U.S. Supreme Court’s Dobbs v. Jackson decision, according to Guttmacher. Many women now travel to Colorado for abortion tourism, specifically to receive an abortion, underscoring the critical need for life-affirming care in the 19th-largest city in the U.S.

“Save the Storks is deeply honored to expand our life-saving mission into Denver,” said Save the Storks Chief Executive Officer Diane Ferraro. “This Mobile Medical Clinic brings compassionate care directly to women in need, ensuring they have access to resources, medical services, and a path forward rooted in dignity and hope.”

Save the Storks and Marisol Health coincided the launch of their Mobile Medical Clinic on Oct. 7 with Respect Life Month, to honor their mission to affirm life.

Dr. Francis Smith, a pro-life sidewalk advocate and friend of Save the Storks, passionately championed bringing a Mobile Medical Clinic to Denver. Although Dr. Smith passed away before the launch, his vision is realized through this new unit, and Save the Storks is honored to see this life-saving ultrasound on wheels brought to life.

“Dr. Francis was a dear friend to our ministry and to me personally. Even with his physical limitations, this remarkable man dedicated his life to defending the vulnerable, and his legacy lives on through this Stork Bus, which will save countless lives and serve many women in Denver,” said Ferraro.

Beyond building and delivering mobile medical clinicsSave the Storks provides its partner women’s health clinics with a full suite of ongoing support, including free delivery and training, expertise with hiring licensed medical staff, mobile repair grants, warranty tracking, troubleshooting and marketing assistance, such as Google ad grants, ride-along training, and strategic planning to ensure long-term success.

“Every Mobile Medical Clinic is a promise of hope. By bringing care directly to women in their communities, we create space for them to be seen, heard, and supported during one of the most important moments of their lives,” Ferraro added.

Save the Storks’ mission is to create a story of hope and empowerment for every woman facing an unplanned pregnancy. This national organization that started in 2012 focuses on four key areas of impact: Elevating women’s healthcare through strategic partnerships with pregnancy health clinics; Mobile Medical Clinics that bring women’s healthcare directly to where it is most needed; Church and Community partnerships; and the Digital Platform for women, offering 24/7 access with real care and real options.

DEAR READER

We hope this article enlightened and inspired you to stand up for life.

Despite the overturning of Roe v. Wade, abortions are still prevalent in our nation. As a response to the overturning, the media: from the news to entertainment sources to even political figures and celebrities, have pushed abortion as an ongoing agenda, shaping the way this generation thinks and acts. Misinformation is being spread every day, and people are sadly believing the lies.

Our articles and stories aim to tell one thing: the truth.

We know that it is both a blessing and a challenge to understand the reality of abortion, because knowledge incites belief, and belief incites action. But we’re in this together. We believe that we can make abortion unthinkable.

With your support, we look forward to a future where young women are empowered to fight for their own rights: a right to bring life into the world, to be fearless leaders, to be examples of hope, strength, and undeterred resilience. We look forward to a future where life can happen.

If this article strengthened your belief to reach women everywhere with the truth and to let life happen, then please consider helping us extend our reach by making a gift right now. Your gift of just $10 or $20 helps our mission to create a story of hope and empowerment for every woman facing an unplanned pregnancy.

We aim to create a culture that views “pro-life” as equivalent to having empathy and compassion, providing holistic care (before and beyond pregnancy) and education, and most importantly, choosing to speak and act in love. We are pro-life, pro-love, pro-woman, pro-solution.

Don’t just be part of the movement, be part of the solution, and give today.
