Strategic relocations place mobile pregnancy care where access is limited and need is greatest

PLANO, Texas — Save the Storks announced three recent Mobile Medical Clinic re-homes designed to ensure the right community fit for life-affirming pregnancy care, strengthening access in regions where women face limited maternal health services.

The successful re-homes include Kerrville, Texas, to Alpha Care in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, delivered Dec. 18; Tucson, Arizona, to AvivaCare in Castle Rock, Colorado, delivered Dec. 10; and Vacaville, California, to True Choice Medical Clinics in Miramar, California, delivered Jan. 23.

Across the nation, 36% of U.S. counties are considered maternal care deserts — areas where access to comprehensive maternal healthcare is severely limited or nonexistent, according to the National Library of Medicine. By repositioning mobile medical clinicsSave the Storks helps ensure that women in underserved communities receive compassionate, high-quality care close to home.

“When a Mobile Medical Clinic is placed in the right community, it becomes a lifeline for women who may otherwise lack access to pregnancy care,” said Diane Ferraro, CEO of Save the Storks.

Save The Storks equips and supports local pregnancy health clinics with state-of-the-art mobile medical clinics, often called “Stork Buses,” to bring care directly to communities. These mobile medical clinics operate in 109 cities nationwide. The units deliver holistic care directly to communities, often parking near abortion facilities to offer real options and comprehensive support.

“Re-homing allows us to steward resources wisely while expanding our reach,” Ferraro said. “Used mobile medical clinics are more affordable and available more quickly, enabling pregnancy health clinics to serve women without long construction timelines.”

The re-home process begins when a mobile partner expresses interest in selling a Mobile Medical ClinicSave the Storks holds the first right of refusal on its units to ensure they continue serving women in need.

Once a buyer is identified, Save the Storks connects the selling and purchasing clinics to finalize details, including price and delivery. The transaction occurs directly between the two clinics, and buyers are encouraged to inspect the Mobile Medical Clinic in person before completing the purchase.

The organization may provide mobile grants to offset costs. Save the Storks also supplies delivery drivers who transport the unit and remain onsite for two days of operational training, all at no cost to the purchasing clinic.

“This model reflects our commitment to excellence, accountability and access,” Ferraro said. “We are not just moving vehicles; we are positioning hope, medical care and tangible support exactly where it is needed most.”

Mobile medical clinics have become instrumental in bridging the gap between pregnancy health clinics and women, particularly in communities with few maternal healthcare providers. By bringing healthcare directly to neighborhoods, the clinics demonstrate practical compassion and ensure women know they matter and deserve quality care.

“Every re-home represents another opportunity to serve women with dignity and truth,” Ferraro said. “Our goal is to create lasting impact by aligning each Mobile Medical Clinic with the community where it can save the most lives.”

DEAR READER

We hope this article enlightened and inspired you to stand up for life.

Despite the overturning of Roe v. Wade, abortions are still prevalent in our nation. As a response to the overturning, the media: from the news to entertainment sources to even political figures and celebrities, have pushed abortion as an ongoing agenda, shaping the way this generation thinks and acts. Misinformation is being spread every day, and people are sadly believing the lies.

Our articles and stories aim to tell one thing: the truth.

We know that it is both a blessing and a challenge to understand the reality of abortion, because knowledge incites belief, and belief incites action. But we’re in this together. We believe that we can make abortion unthinkable.

With your support, we look forward to a future where young women are empowered to fight for their own rights: a right to bring life into the world, to be fearless leaders, to be examples of hope, strength, and undeterred resilience. We look forward to a future where life can happen.

If this article strengthened your belief to reach women everywhere with the truth and to let life happen, then please consider helping us extend our reach by making a gift right now. Your gift of just $10 or $20 helps our mission to create a story of hope and empowerment for every woman facing an unplanned pregnancy.

We aim to create a culture that views “pro-life” as equivalent to having empathy and compassion, providing holistic care (before and beyond pregnancy) and education, and most importantly, choosing to speak and act in love. We are pro-life, pro-love, pro-woman, pro-solution.

Don’t just be part of the movement, be part of the solution, and give today.
